SIMONA

Monaco - 54 Boulevard du Jardin Exotique - 22 floors - 2012

  • Lift
  • Concierge
  • Swimming pool
  • Fitness
  • Video security
  • Sauna

Completed in 2012, Simona introduces an unusual approach to residential architecture in Monaco. Designed by Jean-Pierre Lott with Suzanne Belaieff, the project rises 22 storeys and reaches approximately 90 metres, while occupying a remarkably limited footprint. Two curved vertical volumes form the tower and are connected by slender bridges. This arrangement allows the building to rise among the greenery of Parc Princesse Antoinette while creating a strong architectural presence in the Jardin Exotique district.

The concept extends directly into the residences: the 24 duplex apartments were conceived as stacked villas, with four façades, a southern orientation and large terraces extending into private swimming pools. Private landing areas served by elevators further reinforce this individual approach to residential design. The complex also includes a communal swimming pool and fitness room, while a bridge crossing a water feature connects the entrance to Boulevard du Jardin Exotique.

Simona therefore represents a distinctive example of vertical residential development in Monaco. Rather than simply arranging apartments within a compact block, its architecture seeks to reproduce the qualities of a villa at each level. Geometric concrete, glass and metal façades, planted walls and connecting bridges give the building a recognisable identity between contemporary architecture and the landscaped setting of the Jardin Exotique.
