The Exotique residence in Monaco is a one-of-a-kind real estate development. For its architecture, design, layout, and services: discover this extraordinary architectural project inaugurated in June 2022.
In the southwest of the Principality and just a stone's throw from the border with France, the Jardin Exotique district brings together the former sectors of La Colle and Les Révoires. Perched at more than 100 meters high, it is the highest point of the Monegasque territory.
The Jardin Exotique, from which the district takes its name, was built between 1913 and 1933 on the cliffside and is an Eden of greenery. From the path that winds along the cliff, you can admire a rich collection of plants including agaves, prickly pears, Mexican succulents and cacti. All this with a breathtaking view of the Principality and the Mediterranean below.
This area is also an essential passageway from which you can access the Principality from the A8 motorway. Every day, it is used by thousands of vehicles from France and Italy. The development of the area, therefore, involves reconciling the flow of visitors with the sophisticated tranquility of a luxury residence.
This is why architects Fabrice Notari and Rudy Ricciotti designed the "Propylée", a futuristic 8.3-meter high footbridge, to cover part of the Boulevard du Jardin Exotique and create an overhang towards the sea. Residents will thus be able to enjoy the many terraces and gardens that cascade down the building's southern façade without being disturbed by noise pollution.
L'Exotique (also called "Plein Sud") is an exceptional residential complex. With its specific design and architecture, it is now one of the most emblematic buildings in the Principality.
Carved into the cliffside and designed to blend into the Mediterranean landscape, it was built on the site of the former greenhouses of the Jardin Exotique.
The building was designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, who has already designed the MUCEM in Marseille. As for interior design, it was entrusted to François Champsaur, a Parisian designer who specialized in luxury hotels and object design.
This luxury real estate project is intended to be at the heart of the Monegasque territory. Everything has been done to respond to a logic of soft mobility and daily accessibility. Particular attention has been paid to traffic management and the development of access roads to the Principality. The residence is linked to the city center by a tunnel and has direct pedestrian access to the Jardin Exotique.
The building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and services. It has 8 floors, 66 apartments, 4 commercial premises, an adjoining office building, 1,819 parking spaces on 15 underground levels, as well as a police station and a tourist office.
To enhance residents' daily lives, it also features an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, gym, 24/7 concierge service and luxury stores.
Large, light-filled spaces open onto lush gardens and terraces, offering spectacular unobstructed views of the Mediterranean and the Rock.
In total, the work will have cost no less than €150 million. The Exotique was inaugurated on June 30, 2022.
