The historic watchtower of the principality
Cap d'Ail, a very coveted municipality along the coast and bordering the Principality of Monaco. It has hosted many famous people such as the Russian imperial family, les Frères Lumières, Colette, Sacha Guitry, and Winston Churchill. Historically, what we call the Tower of Aglio was a guard post of the Principality of Monaco. Its idyllic setting attracts many tourists every year.
The town of Cap d'Ail is located west of Monaco and offers a wonderful coastal path from the border of the Principality to the bay of Villefranche. You can walk along the port where you will find a few restaurants, and without noticing you will be in the neighbourhood of Fontvieille right in front of the football stadium “Louis 2”. A real strategic point between exciting Monaco, and the peaceful and paradisiacal creeks.
The real estate landscape of Cap d'Ail displays magnificent villas, and beautiful architecture from 1920’s-30's, a place where many international families come to relax. Ostentatious real estate, luxuriant botany, turquoise waters, Cap d'Ail will enchant you. The average price per m2 is 10,000 euros, which attracts a wealthy clientele... The beautiful “Belle époque” villas fill in the unique landscape of Cap d’Ail.
The Villa “Les Funambules” attracts our attention in particular. It is the whitest villa in Cap d'Ail and was also the refuge of Sacha Guitry. These two octagonal towers with luxurious vegetation dominate the Mediterranean. A true haven of peace and where Sacha Guitry went to write and relax.
Cap d'Ail also offers the most beautiful beaches like “La Mala” and it’s incredible path. A real enclosed and unique creek that attracts tourists. The city of Cap d'Ail has multiple facets, “The Marquet beach” with its water activities and beach volleyball, but also “the Pisarelles beach” for the most athletic ones with its steep rocks.
